Q: Do you need to make two separate orders for your car and your Mom's car?
A: You can now maintain multiple shopping carts in a single browser. All you have to do is click on the “New Cart” icon and you’re on your way to completing a new order!

Q: Do you need to make any changes to your saved shopping carts?
A: To make changes to your shopping carts use the “Rename Cart” and “Clear Cart” icons. Using these icons will allow you to make any necessary changes before completing your order.

Q: Are you working on your shopping cart from work and need to come back to it later?
A: Email the shopping cart to yourself and finish up at home! Simply click the “Email this cart to a friend” icon. The email sent will include a link that will open to a copy of your saved shopping cart in the RockAuto.com catalog. This is also a great feature to create wish lists for your family and friends, or to send your shopping cart to a mechanic or customer for input before completing an order.

Forum of the Month

PT Cruiser Links came onto the automobile forum scene in July 2001. Since then, over 7000 people have become members of one of the most active Chrysler PT Cruiser forums on the web. The forum is entirely run by the members for the sole purpose of bringing together owners of the PT, whether it be for social contact or to find answers to questions about the vehicle. The forum is broken down into four main categories; General, Turbo, Regional, and Marketplace. Any member is welcome to post on any part of the forum as long as it's relevant to the PT Cruiser. There is a part of the General Forum that is called Non PT Discussions and anything not related to the PT can be posted here as long as forum rules are followed. The forum also has members from all over the world who join the forum to talk with others in far off lands.

There are members with vast experience as mechanics and long time owners with hands-on PT Cruiser experience that are willing to help answer any questions from the new owner or long time enthusiast that has suddenly developed a problem whether it be mechanical (engine, brakes, suspension...), customization (carpet, grille,...) or a question on where to buy a particular part. Repair Mistakes & Blunders

I am restoring a 1963 (and a half) Ford Galaxie which had spent 14 years sitting in a field with a window open, so you can imagine the condition it was once in. One of the first tasks was to remove the fuel tank and clean it out. The fuel gauge sender was toast, but the tank was in surprisingly good condition. I soon had it all back together and the engine running. Months later I was working on the car when I started to smell gas. Looking underneath I could see that a seam on the tank had split and gas was gushing everywhere. Clearly the tank was not as good as I had assumed.

So I bought a new tank from RockAuto and salvaged the nearly new sender from the old tank. Just as I was finishing the installation a fellow 63 Galaxie fan turned up. When he heard my story he asked if I had checked the breather pipe, and after seeing the blank look on my face, explained that if the vent tube was blocked the gas in the tank would expand in the hot weather and eventually rupture the tank. I put an air line down the vent pipe (having first disconnected it from the tank) and sure enough it was blocked solid. Eventually I was able to blow out a handful of rust and debris and breathe a sigh of relief that I had not burst my new fuel tank.

This is my 1986 Ford F-150, Straight-6 engine (4.9L, 300 cid), 4x4, with 4 speed OD transmission. It would hardly shift when I brought it home, and there was giant hole in the floor covered with cardboard. The box and front fenders had holes in them that someone had filled with Bondo and chicken wire! Over the course of the summer I cut, ground, and welded in replacement panels and made new sheet metal floors. I used minimal body filler and painted the whole truck in my garage! This was my first attempt at body work and welding.

I ordered front hubs and rotors from RockAuto (at an absolutely killer good deal price!!!) and they are scheduled to be installed this summer. I have also rebuilt the carburetor and replaced quite a few gaskets in the engine. This old truck now purrs like a kitten and gets 25 miles to the gallon - if I keep my foot off the skinny pedal!
