When mirror housing consists of two halves assembled with screws:
Remove screws and take mirror housing apart. Slide out glass and rubber gasket.
Put rubber gasket around new glass and replace into mirror housing.
Replace and tighten screws.
When mirror housing is clamped over glass with a rubber gasket:
Mark gasket with pen to indicate proper position for when you reinstall.
Use hammer if necessary to tap out old glass and remove along with gasket. Caution: Always use safety goggle and gloves.
