Place a Drain Pan under the transmission to catch old fluid
Clean the filter mounting base, making sure the seal from the old filter is not stuck to the filter mount
Apply a film of clean transmission fluid to the new seal prior to installing the new filter
Measure the amount of old transmission fluid drained to determine how much new Transmission Fluid to add
Use a Funnel to prevent spills when refilling the transmission
