Must I create an account before placing an order?
No. Accounts are an optional feature to help you keep track of your order history and to make shopping for parts even easier (see "What are the benefits of creating an account?").

What are the benefits of creating an account?
Creating an account takes less than 5 minutes and provides a way to make ordering parts faster and managing past orders even easier! If you've placed orders before, all the orders under the same email address you use to sign up for the account will be automatically synced to your account for easy access. If you have some orders under a different email address, you will be able to add them to your account (see How do I associate past orders with my account?)

With a RockAuto account, you can:
  • Re-use multiple addresses from past orders (your office, your mechanic, your cousin with the big garage...)
  • Quickly reach your vehicles in the RockAuto catalog (see "How do I find parts for a vehicle on my car list?")
  • Find and view complete order history including functionality to search by part number or part category ("When's the last time I bought spark plugs for Mom's Buick?", "What was the part number of the oil filter I bought last time?"...)
  • Edit your email and language preferences

Do you offer discounts or payment terms to businesses?
We do not offer special rates or payment options to businesses because we offer our lowest prices to every customer, every day -- no matter the order volume.

To show our appreciation to our loyal customers, we do have a discount program for repeat customers. We will send you a discount code via email a few months after you place an order (each time!). You can use the discount code as many times as you like until it expires. See, "How do I view my discount code or store credit?"

Is there a RockAuto mobile app?
There is no RockAuto app. That means there is nothing taking up space on your phone. It is easy to add a shortcut to RockAuto.com's mobile-friendly site to the home screen on your phone or tablet. Instructions for adding shortcuts vary depending on the operating system and Internet browser running on your device.

Typically, to add a shortcut to your home screen, go to rockauto.com on your Internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.). Then, from the browser's menu, select 'Add to Home Screen.' You'll now be able to tap the RockAuto logo on your home screen to quickly access our catalog and reliably low prices!

Using Safari:
Click the menu at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to Add to Home Screen.

Check your email, then click the link in the email (or copy and paste it into your browser's address bar) to confirm you'd like to create a new account. You will be able to create a password and log in.

Enter your email address and password. If you wish to remain logged in for up to 14 days on this device, check the "Keep Me Logged In" box. Click "Log In".

...reset my password if I've forgotten it? 3
Click the "Log In or Create Account" link in the upper-right corner of RockAuto.com.

...add or remove an entry in my car list? 5
We add your vehicle to your car list automatically when you place an order. To add a vehicle without placing an order, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then locate your vehicle in the regular catalog listings. Find your vehicle, then click the car icon located near the engine selection .

Clicking Delete will remove a car from your list.


How do I...
...use a saved address on a new order?
Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?").

Add items to your shopping cart. On the check out page, click the "Saved Address" link. Click on your billing address.

If you'd like to ship to a different address, un-check the box next to "Check Here if Same as Billing Address". Click the Saved Address link above the shipping address to select an alternate delivery location.

We add your billing and shipping addresses to your account automatically when you place an order. To add an address without placing an order, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the “Profile” tab at the top of the page. Click “Add Address” under the “Saved Addresses” section, and enter your information. Click “Save”.

To remove an address, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the “Profile” tab at the top of the page. Find the address you wish to delete under the “Saved Addresses” section and click Delete.

...edit an entry in my address list?
Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the "Profile" tab at the top of the page. Click on the address you'd like to edit, and update your information. Click "Save".

...view my discount code or store credit?
We send discount codes and store credit codes via email. If you deleted the email, you can access your code(s) through your Account.

If you have an account:
Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"). If you have a valid discount code or store credit associated with your Account email address, the code will appear under the "Account Activity" tab.

If you don't have an account:
You must create one to view any discount or store credit codes. It only takes a few minutes to create (see "How do I create an account?"). Be sure to create your account using the same email address with which you normally place orders. Then, when you log into your account, you will see any codes associated with that email address under the "Account Activity" tab -- even if we sent them to you before your account was created!

...view my availability alerts?
To view the availability alerts you signed up for, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"). The out of stock parts will appear under the "Account Activity" tab in the "Availability Alerts" section. When the items on this list are in stock, RockAuto will notify you via email.

To delete an availability alert, click . You will no longer receive a notification when this part is available.

...search my order history? 6
Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"). Your most recent orders will appear automatically.

To find a specific order, select your car or part category, or enter information into the part number field. Click "Search Orders".

...associate past orders with my account? 7
We add orders to your account automatically if the email address entered on the order matches your account, or if you were logged into your account when you placed the order.

If you are not logged in when you place an order with a different email address, you can associate the order with your account. Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"). Enter the email address used on the past order and the order number, then click “Add to History”.

Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the “Profile” tab at the top of the page. Click “Change Password” under the “Account Settings” section.

Enter the password you'd like to use in the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" fields, then click "Save".

If you'd like us to send emails to a different address, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the “Profile” tab at the top of the page. Click “Change Email Address” under the “Account Settings” section.

Enter the email address into the “New Email Address” and “Confirm New Email Address” fields. Click "Save".

We will send future emails, such as discount codes and newsletters, to your new address. We will no longer send emails to the old email address.

Find "Account Settings", and select “Yes” under "Receive RockAuto Newsletter and Discount Emails?" if you'd like to receive our emails. Select “No” if you’d prefer not to receive the emails. Click "Save".

...specify the language for RockAuto emails? 11
Log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the “Profile” tab at the top of the page.

Find "Account Settings". Select a language from the dropdown menu under “Preferred Language for Emails”, then click "Save".

We'll send future newsletter and discount emails in the language you've selected even if future orders are placed using a different language.

...delete my account?
To delete your account, log into your account (see "How do I log into my account?"), then click the "Profile" tab at the top of the page.

Click "Delete Account" & check the box next to "I want to delete this account…". Click .

Your order information will remain in our system, and can be accessed through our Order Status & Returns page.
I can't log in!

I've ordered before but can't log into my account!
Accounts are not created automatically when you place an order. If you receive an error message, you don't have an account associated with the email address you are entering or you entered an incorrect password.

You can view order details without logging into an account by visiting Order Status & Returns.
